The future is sustainable, and the greatest transition the automotive industry is taking is the shift from diesel to electric. With the successful launch of our BMW i models, we continue to make strides with our vehicles, but did you know that your local government is too? Read on to learn about all the perks of making the change from fossil to future.
WEST COAST, BEST COAST.
One of the best parts of living in BC is that everyone has a shared passion for our natural environment; this is evident when 98% of our energy comes from clean or renewable sources! However, one of the greatest contributors that BC families do to damage the environment comes from their transportation choices.
In order to combat this, the government and New Car Dealers Association have teamed up to sponsor BC residents in making the inevitable transition to clean energy vehicles (CEV), offering a grand total of $80 million to subsidize the costs of the purchase of CEVs. Until the funds are all exhausted, you can score $5,000 off a new battery electric, fuel-cell electric, or plug-in hybrid vehicle! To save the world and save money at the same time, it’s definitely a great time to be a British Columbian. There is currently only $14.3 million before the funds of this incentive are exhausted. Be sure to take advantage of them before they’re gone for good!
DRIVE CARS OF THE FUTURE.
We know, everyone’s been ogling our i8s. However, a handful of other vehicles in our fleet are eligible for the sales incentive program, which also allows you to drive in High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes regardless of how many passengers you have in your car. Escaping traffic while being green—now you’ve scored a deal.
Here are the BMW vehicles eligible for this incentive*:
- BMW i3 (Battery Electric Vehicle)
- BMW i3 (Extended Range Electric Vehicle)
- BMW 530e (Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle)
* Certain conditions do apply, so please speak with our Sales Consultants for more details.
CHARGING WITHOUT CHARGE.
Something awesome about CEVs is that they’re extremely easy to recharge. With charging stations becoming even more accessible, you’re able to get a full tank of energy within the same amount of time you take to take a course or two on campus, complete your regular grocery shopping, or to cross off any other daily errands in your regular day. Charging stations are strategically put in more commercial areas, so you’ll be able to spend a couple cents on electricity and blast hundreds on a new wardrobe. A fair exchange!
